Whoo! This one took quite a bit of hard work. Between classes and ensembles, I had such little time to work on anything at all. But 30 minutes here and there brought life to this song, and I'm glad I did. It was a phenomenal learning experience.
This song comes after Rarity Takes Manehatten, with Coco Pommel being introduced as a new side character. He demeanor is no where near as funky or aggressive as the music suggests, but her final decision to defy her employer for an act of kindness really shows what it's like to work for someone you really don't agree with morally very often. We've all been there.
So, take this song and run with it, I'll try to work some over Spring Break and Summer Break, but we'll see what happens.
Tata!
lyrics
So, as far as you can see: you're at the best that you can be;
But here you are in NYC taking calls for cups of coffee.
And you can dress around the best and run circles around the rest,
But you fail one little test about "paintin' the progressed".
So you intern under Polomare, (what a phony, what a square)
but you take great care to work that flair, you're one constructive mare.
But it's everypony for herself! You'll probably end up on a shelf!
And so the damage has been dealt, but you only blame yourself.
But don't let these ponies get you down.
You may see the good if you look around.
You're just fine, so get off that ground.
I can say, that you're the brightest star this town has ever seen.
I can say, that the path you chose will lead you to your dreams.
I can say, that even though you take your orders from a
scene queen you should let your screams remind her that you can always beat the scheme.
And one day you meet Ms. Rarity, the angel of Generosity.
You can't help but to disagree how Polo keeps the peace.
Events unfold, and though you're told to keep you mouth shut, in your soul
an angst and need to pay the toll of being gold begins to mold.
So pack your bags, you've got a plan! It's time to stick it to the man!
Polo's gonna get the can, and lose her own right hand.
Your kindness shines much like the sun and even moreso when you're done.
She'll get the prize, you'll get that rise up to the top - to number one.
Don't let that Polo kick you down.
Just let Rare's kindness lift the clouds.
You're gonna make this mare so proud.
I can say, that you're the brightest star this town has ever seen.
I can say, that the path you chose will lead you to your dreams.
I can say, that even though you take your orders from a
scene queen you should let your screams remind her that you can always beat the scheme.
[Solo]
You're one step closer to runnin' this town.
There'll be applause when she hits the ground.
Why can't you see: You're the best around.
I can say, that you're the brightest star this town has ever seen.
I can say, that the path you chose will lead you to your dreams.
I can say, that since you beat your way out of working for that
scene queen you can weave and seam the whole way to a spot-on-top supreme.

This album brings back a lot of memories of my early high school years, and the joy I got from seeing new things and discovering myself. I’m glad I was able to get a copy and support the artists instead of back then when I had to just listen to a YouTube playlist kramerthecourier
